One of the places I didn't visit was the Sutcliffe galleries, perhaps another day because I love the sepia toned pictures of the women mending nets and the local scenery which he captured magically. Even now, I had to drive through Dalby Forest and although it's not yet spring officially, the bracken is just starting to peep through on the verges and in the fields. It's a beautiful place but you are right, isolated for many miles - not a good place to run out of fuel.<br />XXRarelesserspottedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15865928245970626612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083684017954117107.post-78923197285654361192012-03-18T04:09:01.452+00:002012-03-18T04:09:01.452+00:00Whitby is a delightful little town and has many fr...Whitby is a delightful little town and has many friendly cafes to stop for good food. You should have stuck with the fish and chips especially the ones by he harbor. I have a book of Frank Sutcliffe's photographs. His photos each tell a story. Sorry but I could do without the Goths, but to each his own. We had a White Lady at Flamborough too. We had the extra thrill of driving over the moors to get to Whitby. There was always the fear of running out of gas in those days so it was a great adventure. Then if the heather was blooming it was doubly exciting.ChrisJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11550420299395301062noreply@blogger.com
