Word Verification

Can anyone help me get rid of Word Verification?

The Blogger instructions are as clear as mud. It says quite specifically that the word verification can be found in the Settings/Comments section of the blog.

It is simply not there. I have tried every box on the entire 'back office' of the site and it does not exist.

Word Verification is so hard to read for many of my bloggers and I want to turn it off.

I need help please.

  1. Dunno if you're using new blog interface but if you are, try a switch back to the old interface, then click Settings, comments and turn it off from there.

    Ummm, this link should help.

  2. I was going to say the same > old interface > settings > comments > scroll down a bit and put the dot to 'no'

  3. I haven't looked but I would guess there is a SAVE button on the page directed above. Nothing changes if you don't click SAVE.

  6. .....and in the process I've discovered I had word verification inadvertently enabled. I use the 'old' comment option. I dislike the 'captya' too. Hard to read. Now disabled, I hope.

I also found that under both old and new posting options text formatting options won't work using Google Chrome. Amazing considering both Chrome and Blogger are run by Google.

    No probs with Firefox browser.

    Let me know your experience.

  7. Good for you fro getting rid of the ridiculous verification nonsense. Some blogs I just stopped following as it took too much time to comment but yours was still worth it, still happy you are nailing it!

  8. If you can't do it after reading these comments RLS - go to Tom Stephenson on my side bar and ask him. He told me how to do it and it worked perfectly (I can't remember what I did now).
